Project Gigabit - Public Review

The government is on a mission to deliver lightning-fast, reliable broadband to everyone in the UK and is investing £5 billion in Project Gigabit to ensure that hard-to-reach communities are not left out. Building Digital UK (BDUK) carried out a Public Review to help identify areas in Suffolk that may be suitable for future public funding for gigabit-capable broadband.

Through a recent Public Review, BDUK sought information and supporting evidence from suppliers - in relation to the presence of gigabit-capable broadband infrastructure within the project area. BDUK wanted to hear from all relevant stakeholders - including the public, businesses, internet service providers and broadband infrastructure operators - particularly in relation to the proposed mapped eligible areas.

The Public Review ran from Thursday 19 August 2021 until Monday 20 September 2021.

The outcome of the Public Review for the Project Gigabit Lot 2 procurement has now been published - the Suffolk (Lot 2) Public Review Closure notice is now available. For more information about the Public Review - please visit the Suffolk Public Review page on the BDUK website.
